The benefits of drinking tap water

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, and what better way for the American Dental Association (ADA) to mark this significant month in the coming year, than to promote the benefits that come from drinking tap water.

Drinking tap water is far better than trying to quench your thirst with soft drinks that contain a high sugar content, which wreaks havoc on your teeth.

Drinking tap water not only decreases the amount of sugar intake that you would otherwise be having, but tap water that contains fluoride has incredible benefits for your teeth, like helping to prevent tooth decay.

The ADA celebrates National Children’s Dental Month in February, and you can get a variety of resources through its catalog. Take a look at their full article here.

The focus for National Children’s Dental Health Month in 2017 was “I love tap water” and they provided those interested in helping to get the message across with posters with familiar children’s dental health characters.

2017 may be gone, but it’s never too late to encourage our children to open up the tap and take a sip!
